Israel’s invasion of Gaza in response to Hamas attack on October 7th, 2023 will bring about a greater danger. This verse tells the people, “rejoice not” that they are freed from the cruel rulers aka Hamas.

Isaiah 14:30[30] And the firstborn of the poor will graze, and the needy lie down in safety; but I will kill your root with famine, and your remnant it will slay.

This is the verse which prophesies the current situation in Gaza, in which the majority of the population will starve.

Isaiah 14:31[31] Wail, O gate; cry out, O city; melt in fear, O Philistia, all of you! For smoke comes out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.

The Israeli army invaded and bombed the north of Gaza first and moved south throughout the campaign.

Isaiah 14:32[32] What will one answer the messengers of the nation? “The LORD has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people find refuge.”

There is hope for those people of Gaza to find refuge in God, but not only in God, in Zion, more specifically Israel. The Israelis offer not only refuge for the innocent but also food and water, although most refuse to go there.
